Paintings exhibited at The Old Coastguard, The Parade, Mousehole, Penzance. TR19 3PR www.oldcoastguardhotel.co.uk  01736 731222 from the 16th October to 4th January.

Exploring the human animal relationship, inspired by poetry, mythology, folk tales and most importantly the experience of seeing wildlife in our often tumultuous landscape.

That magical momentary glimpse of a Barn Owl, the barely heard hoot of a Tawny Owl, a distant flock of lapwings whilst passing an estuary, or standing under a cloud of 200,000 starlings and trying to ignore the roar of the busy rush hour traffic; the hectic human landscape of wind turbines, power cables, plastic, and roads ever present, navigated daily by our wildlife.

The landscapes exhibited are in many ways the beginning of a new project in which I am focusing on a few of the very precious and delicately balanced places that support much of our local wildlife.  It feels like taking a step back and looking at the broader picture, whilst the focus for me is still on the birds, it also recognises their symbiotic relationship and reliance on particular landscapes.  It feels like an ever changing dialogue between wildlife and place as weather and tides shift, water levels rise and fall.

Cornwall Crafts Association & The National Trust

Ongoing Exhibition at the National Trust Trelissick Gallery with the Cornwall Crafts Association.

The little film was made by Tom from the National Trust who did an amazing job of reconfiguring my nervous interview into a coherent short film for the 125th Anniversary of the National Trust.

Red Sixty Seven Book Launch 14th February 2020 & Calendar for 2021

Red Sixty Seven is a collaboration between 67 authors and 67 artists with a single goal: to raise funds to support conservation work aiming to reverse the declines of our most at-risk birds. Contributors include Chris Packham, Ann Cleeves, Samuel West, Natalie Bennett, David Lindo, Gill Lewis, Darren Woodhead, Carry Akroyd, Jane Smith and Patrick Barkham.

All of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated to BTO and RSPB to further their work on Red-listed birds.

Red Sixty Seven is 67 love letters to our most vulnerable species, each beautifully illustrated by some of the best wildlife artists around, showcasing a range of styles as varied as the birds in these pages. Our hope is that the book will bring the Red List to a wider audience whilst raising funds for the charities working to help the birds most at need.

My bird was the Balearic Shearwater, I have a particularly soft spot for Shearwaters (although Manx) having spent some time on Skokholm and Skomer Islands,  We have them visiting our waters around Cornwall.
