Lino Printing Course

This short course is made up of Ten video tutorials , each exploring a different aspect of lino printing. I work through each project in real time, talking you through my thought process, the decisions I make and the techniques I have developed through years of printmaking. We begin by looking through a selection of my own lino prints before discussing the materials and equipment I use. From there, we will move on to three different approaches to lino printing: a simple single plate print, a reduction print and a multi-block print using four separate plates. I will demonstrate printing by hand and with a press, showing that beautiful prints can be achieved with or without specialist equipment. The course is accompanied by an illustrated booklet, which includes the reference photographs I work from, process images, a short history of relief printing and an introduction to the different methods of lino printing. I have also included links to the materials I use throughout the course, making it easy for you to copy and paste them to find the same, or similar, products wherever you are in the world.
